High voltage generator alias direct high voltage generator or DC high voltage generator, it is specially used to detect the electrical insulation strength and leakage current of power devices.
Generally, the use of high voltage generators is to carry out DC voltage withstand test on zinc oxide arrester, power cable, transformer, generator and other high voltage electrical equipment. Different subjects measure in different ways.
First, Microammeter
The microammeter must have metal shielding, and the shielding wire should be used to connect with the test product. The shielding outlet of the high voltage lead should be closely connected with the shielding of the instrument end. If the surface of the test product is polluted, the influence of the leakage current on the surface of the test product can be connected to the shielding of the high-voltage lead with the bare metal flexible wire tightly wound several times.
?Second, zinc oxide lightning arrester
When the ground end of zinc oxide, magnetic blow arrester and other test products can be disassembled, the ammeter can also be used to measure the bottom of the test product (ground potential side). To eliminate the influence of leakage current on the surface of the test, a soft bare copper wire can be wound several times at the ground potential end of the test and connected to the shield of the shield wire .
?For small capacitors such as zinc oxide arrester, the discharge time is usually very fast through the piezometer resistance. For large capacitance test products such as cables, it is generally necessary to self-discharge the voltage of the test product to less than 20% of the test voltage, and then discharge through the matching discharge rod. After the test product is fully discharged, hang the ground wire, and then allow the removal and replacement of the high-voltage lead wire.
Finally, it should be emphasized that the staff using the DC high voltage tester must be professionals with a “high voltage test certificate”.
